Week 9 495

I've scrapped my original that I showed the class initially and have moved onto another theme which has branched out slightly into a few different tracks. My foley sounds are interesting, but in my opinion I need more variety. I think i'll really be able to narrow down what i'm missing when I can see what visuals i'll be working with. I've created some really neat sounds to describe the black hole machine and all it's functions. I've also created a Space Waltz in 3/4 time signature as well as an Ocean Theme for when the cephalopod ends his journey in the ocean. I have demos for a theme called Tumbling and another called Frustration. I will continue developing themes as I'm sure they will all be useful in some capacity, since I only need a max of thirty seconds from each theme.

Week 2 495

This week we met at PCJ within the library. Now having figured out the skeleton of our character, Nico, we began to season him personally. He all of a sudden takes on the role of mechanic, a wormhole mechanic on top of that, whom is not very good at his job. We teleported him out to four solid environments so far that we wanted him to land in. Two are dangerous and the other are remotely safe (as far as we know). One is ice, where his ship is slowly cracking into the ice. Another is sandy, the other is coastal and the final is the mountains. Finally though, our space cephalopod, Nico, finds himself plopped into a puddle of water. Gilly dice "'Espara para los perrrons! What he didn't realize is that he was in the ocean, liable, determined and proven to become the first cephalopod in the He had fun swimming into the ocean until he eventually starts a family and thats the end of the film.

Decent Start

Parker, Kenneth and I met in the library for the first time since the beginning of class two days before we had to present. Actually, Kenneth couldn't make it because he had a stomach virus. So Parker and I rehashed to the class what we were able to brainstorm in the library a few days prior. The beginning of our story was solidly agreed upon, and we knew that the middle section of the film was going to be filed with different types of environments, possibly some gags, however, the ending was undecided. Kenneth, the director, was leaning more towards a heterosexual  approach where our protagonist is lured out of his safety by a female version of himself, meanwhile he is grabbed by the hand of a cook and boiled to death. We were initially going to have to divide up work but I convinced Kenneth not to, seeing as how this was the only time that I had scheduled to do this pre-liminary work. Despite the butter thick awkwardness in the air, everything got done surprisingly well. Conversation between the group mates was productive and group centered. In fact, now that I have had a meeting with Kenneth a few times, I have come to respect him, I can put myself in his shoes when we get into an argument.
